The Mega Journal of Case Reports™ is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality case reports and clinical images across a wide range of medical disciplines, including medicine, nursing, dentistry, and veterinary science. All accepted manuscripts are published online immediately and freely accessible, ensuring global open access without subscription barriers.


Aims

MJCR seeks to:

  • Provide a platform for unusual, unique, and rare clinical cases to enhance understanding of diseases.
  • Disseminate important clinical information to medical professionals worldwide.
  • Ensure rigorous peer review, with manuscripts evaluated by a minimum of three independent reviewers.
  • Offer fast-track publication, with accepted manuscripts published online within 2-4 weeks of acceptance.

Scope

MJCR publishes case reports and clinical images that:

  • Highlight rare conditions, novel treatment approaches, and unexpected outcomes.
  • Contribute to medical education, patient care, and clinical research.
  • Offer valuable insights for clinicians, researchers, and trainees.

The journal welcomes submissions from clinicians and researchers across all medical and surgical specialties, irrespective of geography or institutional affiliation.

Peer Review Process

MJCR maintains a robust and transparent peer-review system to ensure quality and validity:

  1. Submission – Manuscripts are checked for formatting and alignment with journal scope.
  2. Assignment to Reviewers – Sent to experts in the relevant field.
  3. Review Process – Reviewers assess quality, originality, significance, and ethics, providing constructive feedback.
  4. Editorial Decision – Based on reviewer feedback: accept, request minor/major revisions, or reject.
  5. Revisions – Authors address reviewer comments and resubmit.
  6. Final Decision & Publication – After successful revisions, the manuscript is published.

This process guarantees transparency, integrity, and high scientific standards.

Editorial Board Responsibilities

The Editorial Board, composed of experienced clinicians and researchers, is responsible for:

  • Evaluating manuscripts fairly and objectively.
  • Ensuring a timely peer-review process.
  • Upholding ethical publishing standards.
  • Guiding journal development and policy improvements.

Conflict of Interest Policy

All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the submitted work.

  • Authors: Must include a Conflict of Interest Statement in the manuscript, even if none exist.
  • Reviewers: Must recuse themselves if a conflict exists.
  • Editors: Will avoid handling manuscripts with potential conflicts.

Plagiarism & Academic Integrity

  • MJCR enforces zero tolerance for plagiarism or duplicate publication.
  • All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate).
  • Manuscripts with significant similarity to previously published work are rejected.

Ethical Approval & Informed Consent

Human Studies:

  • Must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and be approved by an Institutional Ethics Committee.
  • Manuscripts must include a statement confirming ethical approval and informed consent.

Animal Studies:

  • Must follow institutional and national guidelines for animal care (e.g., ARRIVE, CPCSEA).
  • Authors must include a statement confirming ethical approval and compliance with welfare regulations.

Patient Consent for Case Reports:

  • Written informed consent must be obtained from patients or legal guardians.
  • Consent must include authorization for clinical information, photographs, and open-access publication.
  • Identifying patient information must be anonymized or omitted.

Corrections, Retractions & Editorial Notes

MJCR maintains transparency through:

  • Corrections for minor errors.
  • Retractions for ethical violations, falsified data, or duplicate submissions.
  • Editorial expressions of concern if publication integrity is questioned.

All notices are linked to the original article and clearly labeled.


Data Sharing & Transparency

  • Authors are encouraged to provide supplementary data and detailed methods.
